It made my 23-year-old roommate STFU and stop fighting with her boyfriend. They would sit in their sleeping bag and concentrate to find Waldo, Walda, Odlaw, the wizard and that stupid dog. They would follow Waldo's adventures, learn to share and excercize their minds. Excellent gift for a hobo who lives in a tent with two other people, and who just needs some peace and quiet. Instant silence. The book is fun and is a funny work of art as well. Would recommend to anyone young and young at heart.

Always wanted this book as a child (born and raised poor and never had a shot at it) and so I bought it for myself for Christmas. My only complaint is that I finished finding Waldo in all the scenes in about fifteen minutes, and found the rest of the "can you find" to be equally easy. Should have tackled this book as a seven-year-old child rather than a 59-year-old man in a tinge of nostalgia. But nothing wrong with this book...for children. It did help get me through a rather lonesome Christmas day.

Some low resolution pages mar an otherwise amazing coloring book. I never knew I needed this in my life. Wonder if the UK version has higher quality printing. You shouldn't be able to see individual pixels!

I read some of the reviews after ordering this book...and it made me a bit nervous. Vampires? Happily, this is the same delightful book I remember, and I have loved sharing it with my grandsons. I have to admit the paperback version has a different "feel" to it. Waldo seems to fit best with a hardback book cracked open on a table, but that doesn't affect my rating. Beautiful and interesting scenes, looking at all the other characters is just as much fun as finding Waldo et. al.

I got this for my four year old because the Disney look n finds were too easy for her. While this is actually a great balance of challenging and fun for her, the content of the pictures in this book is a little disturbing for someone so little. I realize he's walking through history, but I shouldn't have to explain to someone so little why people are being burned at the stake, eaten by lions, etc, it's actually pretty graphic unfortunately

Wonderfully challenging. We have had it for about two months now and still can't locate Waldo on all the pages. I really like the challenge and it makes the book last longer. I would have been pretty disappointed in fact if we had been able to locate him on all the pages on the first day. Illustrations are beautiful and very very detailed. Each time I look at the pages, we discover new things that we missed previously. This book it great;

This is another book which is one in a series, one which is far more intricate and challenging than earlier ones, Parents with small children should start with the first WALDO books and move on to increasing levels of difficulty as the child ages. The object is to locate the real character Waldo amidst al the wanna-bees, pretend Waldos and other characters similarly dressed. The later books in the series, and this is definitely one of them, are full of jam-packed pages that parents and kids can work on together, for many years, with books of increasing difficulty. These are books which parent can use with their older children as well, and that can help keep up bonded relationships at times when they are growing closer to their peers.

They don't make them like they used to. This is a regular bound hard cover book. It will not hold up better or longer than any other hard bound book. Pictures are blurry compared to the original books.

Interesting idea. David B. Hart attempts to answer the question of where God was during natural disasters such as the Indonesian tsunami in 2004. He is responding mostly to theodicy (the belief that evil and suffering are part of God's divine plan) and Calvinist strains of Christianity (the doctrine of predestination).Hart's response is : “The Christian should see two realities at once, one world (as it were) within another:one the world as we all know it, in all its beauty and terror, grandeur and dreariness, delight and anguish; and the other world in its first and ultimate truth, not simply “nature” but “creation,” an endless sea of glory, radiant with the beauty of God in every part, innocent of all violence” (60).Evil is not a creation of God, but is the privation of goodness (like St. Augustine). Suffering and evil exist because we have free will and we have chosen to sin and thus, let sin into the world. The world was once perfect and pure (Pre Fall), and once we sinned, we have physically altered the world in a way that makes it susceptible to tragedy, misery, and evil. A question we can ask in response is how exactly was the world altered after the Fall? Did the laws of gravity or motion change? Has the genetic makeup of human beings been altered as well?Overall, I thought this approach was interesting, but I believe it be inadequate for a number of reasons.

Other reviews and blurbs have eloquently set out the project of this wonderful book.All I can hope to add is to ask anyone who has ever asked those big questions about suffering and meaning and God's will to read this book ... and hopefully be inspired, hopefully see a glimpse of what the answer may be. It also reminds us most timeously to refrain from the glib and banal platitude when suffering strikes.A short little book that packs the theological punch of a 500 page masterpiece. I will return to this often.

DBH once again brings a masterful work to the post-modern conversation. There is a host of unsatisfying answers to the problem of evil, but this dismantles them and gives a confident and humble answer that does not disappoint or otherwise fall short. There is no equal in my mind.

I don't know if I've ever read a more compelling and beautiful explanation of theodicy ever, and it is a book that I will need to ponder again and again to mine all the wealth of wisdom found in it!

This book seemed to be written in a bit of a rush in response to the tragedy. As such it's readable, as Hart always is, but doesn't answer the question it asks in the title with any great depth.

This is an important book to read on the subject of evil. The last chapter is a particularly useful and passionate polemic against faulty systems of Christian thought. It is not an easy read though due to the authors penchant for using difficult and obscure words!

The book was not the easiest to read, but his point well made. A compelling argument for the problem of evil. Good historical evidence given by others for and against his view. Would recommend to others, helpful to get a well rounded view in response to the problem of evil. Best point made when he wrote how we should respond to people suffering what we really believe about God.

David Bentley Hart is unquestionably one of the most brilliant theological and philosophical minds in America today. This is a fine introduction into his thought through the medium of an important topic.The purpose for writing this book was to expand the thoughts of a NY Times article that Hart was asked by a friend to write following the tragedy of the 2004 Christmas Tsunami. The monstrous event was followed by hasty responses from people of various philosophical and religious traditions. From one perspective, some atheists wrote that this was clear evidence that God does not exist, as though the multitudes of religious believers worldwide had never considered the gravity of evil in the world, and the implications for such a reality on their belief. From another perspective, some theologians were claiming that God predestined such a catastrophe and that the piles of infant and children bodies were somehow a testimony to God's sovereignty and glory. In light of these seemingly polar opposite arguments (despite their similar theological view of god), Hart responds by expounding on the Christian intellectual tradition against these two opposing views. Hart clearly reserves his greatest criticism for those theologians who distort the Christian tradition to portray God as not subversively working against such tragedy, but willing and using such tragedies.Hart discusses Voltaire's response to the Lisbon earthquake (a similarly tragic event), positioning it within its historical context, highlighting Voltaire's disdain for the typical theological answers offered to him by those who had a heightened sense of theological optimism and claimed that every evil had a good purpose. Hart then discusses how the god who wills and has a purpose in such tragedies must also be rejected, if not through denying his existence, at least in by denying him allegiance. Hart builds this argument through the thought of Fyodor Dostoevsky (particularly through the words of Ivan Karamazov in The Brothers Karamazov). Few would disagree that the words of Ivan Karamazov present the problem of evil as well as anyone before or since. I will leave for you to read how Hart shows that such an argument by Ivan Karamazov is inherently Christian at its core whether Ivan would admit it or not.In the second section on Divine Victory, Hart is concerned to argue that God is free of blame for natural evil, while not diminishing the anger that every Christian should feel at such an event. Hart, focusing on the traditions of Maximus the Confessor, Isaac the Syrian and Thomas Aquinas, does an outstanding job of showing how the Christian intellectual tradition stands together with those who are angered and in deep pain concerning such events.The book is short, although some have complained that the language makes it too dense to read despite its brevity. I would disagree, and whereas I accept that reading Hart may require keeping a dictionary at hand, such a challenge should not dissuade the reader from finishing the work and pondering his argument.Unfortunately, the brevity of this work also means that not all questions about the theological aspects of Hart's argument can be resolved. As such, I would suggest the theological reader also read Hart's The Beauty Of The Infinite: The Aesthetics Of Christian Truth.I would also suggest that the reader have a basic understanding of philosophy and theology before reading the book. The terminology may be unfamiliar to some who are not familiar with these fields and thus they would find the reading more difficult than it is intended to be. This would not diminish my willingness to suggest the book to those thinking through this issue. Few authors have made such a compelling case in such a succinct and beautiful manner.

Words can't express how grateful I am that this book was written! Learning about Attachment Theory and learning about being Anxiously Attached has been extremely liberating. "Insecure in Love" helped me to understand not just who I am, yet why I am, who I am. Something that no counseling (individual or group), no church service or bible scripture or any conversation with anyone could help me see or understand. I always knew that something was different and understood that I just don't operate in relationships like other people, yet the missing piece to the puzzle was why and where it began. Being a therapist myself, I recognize that w/out a proper diagnosis, you can't treat the real issue. "Insecure in Love" allowed me the opportunity to address the real problem from the root. I must admit that I am still very afraid of being able to make the necessary changes as I am slowly (and consciously) working through the exercises as instructed. I am courageously confident that finding peace is an option, because I at least feel understood and I have a name for what it is and a plan to fix it. This book was wonderfully written and provides examples to make it even more comprehensive. If you truly want to take a step in the right direction, this book will help you get there, not to mention, the author affords you the opportunity to contact her personally if needed (I actually spoke to her). She is a true HELPER and that speaks volumes about the impact that her work will have (and is having) on those in need.

I’m not one to typically write a review, but the reviews for this book are what compelled me to purchase and I’m SO happy I did. This book offers simplistic guidelines on how to identify the root of many personal issues that plague many people in relationships AND offers a neat and easy to follow guideline of how to help curb anxious thoughts and behaviors that sabotage relationships. Consider it a type of manual to identify, address, and curb irrational behavior and thoughts in a relationship. I read it once as an overview fairly quickly on my long commute via kindle and thought it was so helpful I purchased the hard copy to make notes and refer back to with ease. If you struggle with feeling not worthy, or not good enough even though you pour your heart into relationships just to come out on the other with yet again another failure, this book is most definitely or you!

AUDIOBOOK- The narration is kinda robotic, this book has exercises that need to be done, the audiobook has no attachments for the quizes or anything else which makes it really hard to apply and work on the concepts taught... The ideas are great and I really love the concepts, I suggest you buy the printed version in order to be able to take advantage of everything this book really has to offer.

It seemed more focused on people that are already in relationships. While it might have hit home for some, I didn’t take away much from it. I had to make myself read it. I ordered the book ‘Attached’ along with this and it was perfect for me. I’m single and have had trouble dating. That book did the job for me

Full disclosure, I only read the first 3 chapters. From reading the sample for the book I thought this might really help me to understand more of the root cause of my relationship anxiety. Then both by understanding and suggestions I might be able to be less anxious in the future. But when I really got into the book I found that their data and conclusions were sounding more like "if you're an anxious attacher you have little hope for a secure and happy relationship". Perhaps they get more positive and helpful later in the book, but from the first few chapters I felt like a piece of crud who had little hope of ever being secure in a relationship! No thank you. There are other supportive books that actually help.

This was a great read, and is now a useful reference book to understand attachment typologies. What I find striking is that this author argues that to overcome anxious attachment, one needs to actively find a healthy relationship (friendly, familial, romantic, otherwise). This is easier said than done, and possibly easier in some life areas than others. Also, I find that this approach could put a lot of undue burden on the “healthily attached” person; in fact, many advice columns continually argue that if a partner is too needy, to drop them. I suppose this is where genuine love, understanding, and communication come in, and possibly the lacking factors that might have contributed to anxious attachment. Each book in this series has gotten more intense than the last as Cleo struggles to live up to the prophecies about her. After the tragedy of losing a friend in book 3, which Cleo blames herself for, Cleo isn't about to involve her friends in her latest escapade. Especially since the council (most of them) didn't want her to seek out the Golden Lion (fallen star of great power) in the first place. But this is Cleo, who acts first and thinks later, and she convinces her friend Brian to help her get to the planet where the Golden Lion is supposed to be. But despite the warnings about snow, Cleo is not prepared for what she finds: blizzards, enormous snow spiders, and a thief (Antony) from her past. Forced to team up with Antony, Cleo fights to survive and stumbles into something unexpected. And when the enemy shows up, she's forced to fight. I have to admit, the ending of this one stunned me it was so unexpected. In fact several things happen at the end that really surprised me, but which open up some rather interesting new questions about just who Cleo is and what she's supposed to do.This is a fabulous series for young adventure readers who like a good dose of humor, courage, and the unexpected. The relationships are fun as well as Cleo and Antony (who didn't see that coming) get to know each other better amid all the storm and strife. Combining historical fiction and science fiction has turned out brilliantly in this thoroughly entertaining series.

The "Cleopatra in Space" adventure continues, and it continues to be great, yay! I would give it 10 stars, if Amazon would let me. My 7-year-old daughter and I both love this series, and I'm so happy she gets to enjoy this incredible graphic novel with an amazing & strong super-heroine at the center of it. Great story, fantastic art, super-exciting action sequences--it's just tons of fun. I say 10 stars, write it down.

My son and I have really enjoyed this series. The story is imaginative and unique and the illustrations bring it to life. My son has read most of the books in a single sitting very unusual for him. Great series for kids of all ages and adults that love graphic novels.

This series is seriously fun with some gorgeous art. I'm an almost 50 year old guy, and I found it lighthearted and fun. I'm sure it's a big hit with younger kids as well, just that I found it entertaining as well.

My 9 year old Granddaughter loves the Phoebe and her Unicorn series of books. There are 3 books in the series, and she has read all 3 and was disappointed to find out there were no more Cleopatra in Space Books.

This is an amazing book and series!!I saw the 1 star review saying this book has profanity. I have read all four in this series and there is absolutely NO profanity. I have all the books in my 3rd grade classroom and would never allow that if they were inappropriate. My students adore All the Cleo books. 😊

this is a very good book that has tricks of the trade that can be applied to any sohc or dohc motor out there. highly recommended for people that want to save money by not going the route where there is little to gain in terms of reliability or horsepower. straight and to the point.

I hope it will be helpful to let people know that the edition currently on sale still has all the information contained in the original version, so those older reviews still apply.

I purchased this book thinking it had some info on the the 2.3 and there was ZERO. The 2.3 is the most sought after 4 cylinder in america out of all the ones mentioned in the book. It should be stated in BOLD print that it does not cover the 2.3. I feel I feel mislead. Dont call the book "pinto" performance if your not going to cover one of the most desirable motors ever offered in the pinto in america.

I really anticipated reading this book. As someone working in a connected industry as a space-planner and designer, I am always interested in other’s ideas. I found the beginnings of the story to be honest and forthright, and having humor (book club details), but as I continued reading, I was caught up in what feels like self-absorption, at the expense of others. (Taking catering server shifts on holidays and leaving young family at home, to dispel the sadness of missing eldest child away as an exchange student in Europe. Or dismissing her husband’s very real challenges for shifting careers prior to her shift, which required the entire family to be up-ended financially. Requiring that husband begin moving at 8 PM after his 14 hour work day.) I don’t know. This just did not resonate in the way I had hoped. This story actually jarred me.

Admittedly, when I bought this book I thought it would give me room by room instructions for how to organize every space in my house. In a way it is that, but it is so much more. I have described this book to friends as a cross between a personal memoir and a de-cluttering self-help book. Laura's book is an inspiring story of the journey towards happiness and self-fulfillment by simplifying our surroundings and unburdening ourselves from all the things that weigh us down, not just the clutter in our homes, but the clutter in our day to day lives.After a successful career as a teacher, Laura took the proverbial plunge towards her own self-fulfillment by leaving the classroom and her comfortable life in the 'burbs to buying an actual hoarded house and becoming her own boss with her home organizing business. It was delighfully suspenseful at times and Laura's writing style made me feel like I was reading through a good friend's personal journal ---relatable and very down-to-earth. A quick but compelling read, it left me feeling inspired to give careful consideration to the goals in my own life, how I spend my time both at work and home, and where to keep all those extra lids to the multiplying plastic food containers in my kitchen. (hint - toss them!). I highly recommend this book.

This book was full of practical tips from how to organize to how to find new homes for things you no longer want! But what made the book a quick read for me was Laura's story and how it was engaging from start to finish. Not only did I want to keep reading to find out how the "hoarder" home was transformed but I also wanted to hear how Laura's transformation from school teacher to professional organizer turned out. It was an easy read, entertaining and full of great tips!

I absolutely love this book. It gave me exactly what I needed: emotional motivation.While this is not a typical step-by-step, room-by-room organizing handbook, it is actually much easier to read than an instructional book. How-to books can be quite tedious to work through. This one is very entertaining, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next with the house situation!On the surface, I would agree with one reviewer about the huge risks Laura took -- but actually, that is not the point! The point is to follow your intuition -- and you can do that at any risk level you feel comfortable with.That is exactly why this book resonated with me. I am working on learning to follow my intuition, both for organizing my home and for finding a new passion and possibly a different career.Letting go of things is extremely hard for me (for fear that I will need them down the road), but this intuitive approach will help.

Laura helped us organize our garage. Before, it was an obstacle course where most of the time we wouldn't even bother looking for items we knew were there somewhere. After Laura helped us the clutter and mystery is gone. It took two days, but it easily has saved us that and more. When Laura came out with her book, I knew it would be useful for people who want to get better organized. What I didn't anticipate was the heart-felt and universal personal story of transformation. It is an encouraging message for anyone who wants to make positive changes in their lives.

I found this book an easy and enjoyable read, actually I couldn’t put it down once I started! It was beautifully written, and had a magical way of connecting with the reader at a soul level. I found so much inspiration in this book and could relate on so many levels. I admire Laura’s courage and am grateful to her for sharing her story and helping me along my own personal journey. Whether you are interested in the “organization” aspect or not, this book will feed your soul and leave you satisfied.

I loved reading Laura's personal story of how she went from feeling trapped in her life to shedding what didn't serve her... her career, her home, the limiting beliefs that she had to keep living the way she was.It's not a how-to book on organizing, though there are plenty of tips throughout the book that will resonate with anyone struggling to get organized. It's a how-i-did-it story, and a how-i-became-an-organizer story that is inspiring!I appreciated Laura's frankness about the tough decisions, the struggles, and the moments that carried her through their tough times, and I found myself rooting for her success from the very first pages! It's so clear that she *lives* the same philosophy with which she helps her clients make changes in their own lives.

The book practically read itself, as it arrived on a Friday and was finished with my morning coffee on Saturday. Her personal story, and uncluttered logic made me comprehend and appreciate where she was, why she had to lead this charge and how dedicated she was to arrive. I guarantee any reader that there is a part in her story that will capture you and bring you the same strength to navigate your own personal adventure.

The text is in English, with prayers and songs in both Hebrew and transliteration. This "family haggadah" has activities, fun facts, and a humorous cartoon frog to engage young seder participants while providing lucidly written, thorough text for more advanced readers. The "Think About" prompts are well designed for encouraging intergenerational discussion. There are several nice touches, such as suggestions for vegetarian seder plate options (for example, substituting a beet for the bone), the inclusion of Miriam's cup along with Elijah's cup, and the replacement of the traditional, somewhat judgmental "wicked" and "simple" sons with gender-neutral "defiant" and "uncomplicated" children. I have to admit....I kind of bought this as a joke along with a bunch of other haggadot to evaluate as a replacement for our good old Maxwell House haggadot, after seeing it written up in the Hadassah magazine the prior month. Our kids are sixteen and eighteen, so no need for the cutesy kid stuff. But as we read through this, we were really surprised at how comfortable we felt with it. The lack of Hebrew (compared to Maxwell House) just feels wrong...but really we skip 99% of it from Maxwell House anyway. The frog is definitely cute, but the fun frog stuff is mixed in with more traditional pictures so it doesn't feel overly juvenile. The text includes all the parts I consider necessary, and there are fun side boxes for people who might want to let their minds wander. The layout of the book feels very comfortable and inviting and not at all rushed or complicated. The Haggadah contains what feels like a nice amount of information....we don't feel like we have to spend hours beforehand preparing which sections to read and which to skip because we'll probably do it all in a reasonable amount of time.UPDATE - we used this for a seder and it was perfect. We read every single word on every page and the pre-meal part was about 40 minutes and the after was about twenty. Everyone stayed engaged and followed along. The text was comprehensive and comfortable. The lack of Hebrew still feels weird to me, but that's because of the super-long seders my grandfathers ran mostly in Hebrew.....we end up skipping most of it anyway. We definitely are very happy with this, and our seder guests have purchased their own set of these for their family!

The Family and Frog Haggadah is “toad-ily wonderful.” It has something for everyone, including children as well as the young at heart. Our guide, a little precocious frog hops in and out of each part of the Seder voicing what most of us are thinking (or have thought at one time). Frog makes Pesach fun!  The illustrations of frog are delightful. My favorite is when he eats a locust and has a sick look on his face while belching. The other graphics that illustrate the Seder are historical works of art that add interest for everyone. For instance, the 1926 painting of “The Finding of Moses.”  For even more fun, there are “Think About” prompts to get us contemplate the ritual of the Seder and each of its parts. An example of the “Think About” that spoke to me was in the Hallel section. We are asked to think of an act of kindness that lasts for ever. Wow. I believe this might be one my favorite Haggadot to date. I look forward to celebrating with Frog at next year’s Seder.

I followed the reviews of someone else who was looking for a new Haggadah and I am so happy I did. We invite our non-Jewish neighbors every year for seder and everyone agreed that this was their favorite Haggadah. It was easy to follow and made the seder seem more fun than some of the other Haggadahs we tried. The kids loved it, but so did the adults.
