I was searching for a simple board book with instruments and their names only and this bilingual one fit the bill. Each page features one instrument on a colored background, as you see on the cover. There is a also a small amount of adornment (repeating stock images in silo form) on each page aside from the main instrument on each page. Otherwise, this book is great, just wish there were more instruments because my toddler is obsessed with instruments.Instruments included are: electric guitar, drum set, violin, piano, trumpet, saxophone, bongos, tambourine, double bass, harp, harmonica, bagpipes, clarinet, flute, bass drum, trombone, acoustic guitar, mandolin, accordion, conga drums

Love these for new grandson, my daughter is bilingual in German and my son-in-law is learning, so baby and Daddy can learn together. Plus Daddy is a musician, plays several instruments and teaches young children. So my new grandson will hopefully be inspired. My grandson is being brought up bilingual, we all have some knowledge of the German language. Great construction of this hard page book, no bad smell. We'll be buying more in this series, possibly in other languages as well.

This book is not truly a book, it would better be described as my first bilingual flash cards, each page only has one word (the name of the instrument in the picture) in English and Arabic exactly like the cover. Most of the words are cognates anyways so it is almost pointless to have both languages written. It is a very lazy book that could have been much better had the author actually used at least one sentence per page.

The books in the "My First Bilingual Book" series have colorful, good quality images, sturdy pages, and the size is relatively small. These are great books for households where both parents don't speak Italian, since they provide the word in both Italian and English. The only downside (for the whole series) is that it's not a story book, it's a dictionary/flashcard style book, so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a baby/toddler's attention with this. With the limited Italian bilingual material out there, I would still highly recommend this. The "Music-La Musica" one lists a wide variety of instruments. There was one mistake - for flute (il flauto), they have pictured a piccolo.

I bought this book for my son when he was 8 months old, and for the last 7 months this book has been among his favourites. He likes the other two from this series, Animals and Fruits, almost as much, but this one is preferred of the three, probably because the book depicts people which he finds interesting (like most other babies, he likes books with pictures of babies, but this one is the only one we have that clearly shows adults). The pictures of people in various occupations are well taken and diverse: photographer, fire-fighter, waiter, office worker, doctor, teacher, etc. There is a good mix of males and females (although I've never heard of a female car mechanic LOL) There is a couple of small image imperfections related to photography touch-ups (the eyelashes of the plumber are clearly exaggerated, and so is the glove-like wrinkled skin on the car mechanic's hand); no kid would notice it though, and it makes it more entertaining for us, adults, to read it, if anything else; so no complaints.

The content is excellent. The contrast of colors is great. The items and writting stick out. The book is awesome.My complaint it the quality of the binding. The book fell apart rather quickly. I don't know if I got a dud that fell apart quickly or if that happens for all the books.Since the book fell a part somewhat cleanly/evenly, I can still use the pages that fell out to teach my son as large picture cards.

It is hard to find bilingual books here in the United States, especially the Turkish English ones, so I was happy to have found these on amazon. I was not so happy with the pictures in the books and also there were some misspellings in one of the books I purchased on here. I'm not sure if I'd buy other books.

The illustrations are very nice. This is a good book to inspire my husband to speak to our baby in Cantonese. I like that not only Mandarin, but also Cantonese speakers can use this book. It is useful for Chinese speaking parents to teach their American born kids. I plan to purchase more books in this series.This book does not include pronounciations for English speakers- it is best for kids who are already growing up bilingual and have speakers of both languages in the family.

Our representatives in Washington need to step up and start limiting what the bureacrats can do before its to late. If they can't do that, they shouldn't! be there. How did we get here? Power. You see it everywhere. The thirst for power shapes all aspects of politics. Government shapes all aspects of our lives. Our founding fathers would be appalled. No where does the constitution provide for rules and regulations set forth by unelected officials. Taxation without representation led to the American Revolution. If there is one thing history has taught us, itâ€™s that history always repeats itself. Save the Swamp is wonderful satire that provides excellent discourse on the true cost of big government: Fewer choices, more expensive goods and services, less privacy and bigger corporations.But with both political parties craving power, itâ€™s hard to imagine the Swamp will ever be drained. Maybe someday when social security runs out of money yet retired bureaucrats continue to collect rich pensions will people demand real reform.

Good summary of the viewpoint of the Washington D.C. swamp from the rest of us taxpayers. But the difference is that the writing is from what we envision the perspective of the alligators and slugs to be.

We all know that government invented schools, retirement savings, and cleanliness; how could 300 million people possibly create and trade such values without a few hundred electeds and an army of bureaucrats telling them how to do it? /sarcasmBut seriously, to read Dr. Krannawitter's work is a pleasure and a gift. He has a way of communicating ideas that is simultaneously entertaining and enlightening. His passion for research has given him a knowledge of history that allows him to identify the root cause of so many problems. In concert with his knowledge of philosophy, he is able to break through all bias and show us there is common ground for all humanity. Just as important, Thomas' manner is affable and he always delivers his sage opinions with humor and due respect, so he can appeal to a wide audience and still make them think. I cannot wait to read this book!

Having worked and lived in the Swamp for 6 years, I can attest to the truths revealed in this excellent political satire. It will stand up to the test of time along with Johnathon Swift's "Gulliver's Travels".

Fantastic read, satirically illustrates that most government bureaucracies, if not all, are a complete waste of taxpayer money. Challenges the conventional methods for fixing problems.

This is an awesome book! I picked it up and couldn't put it down until I had read the whole thing! The author shares his real life story how God was faithful to pursue him and work in his life even while he was still a prodigal. It is a story of how God is a redeeming God. He can take the worst mistakes you have made in your life or the worst things that have happened to you and turn them completely around and use them to be a blessing instead. Easy to read and to the point- it will make you weep tears of joy and give you hope- no matter what circumstances you may be facing in your life. I highly recommend it!

Such an incredible story. I gave it to my father who is dealing with some stuff, but after reading the forward and introduction I got a bit carried away and wound up reading the whole thing. I loved how honest Keith was about his life, detailing his daily pursuits and rough-around-the-edges living. This contrasts beautifully with his transformation after encountering the real God who loves dearly and is full of grace and mercy. As a Christian who has grown up in the church, this book reminds me that God loves all people and I too must choose to patiently love and come alongside the broken, but also to acknowledge that I am a work in progress. The raw truth of Keith's story is empowering and I pray that it brings hope to those who need something more than the weight of judgement and condemnation that the world seems so eager to heap upon one another. the bottom line is that this book is a captivating story followed by some very real, easy to understand, truths about how to break free from your old life and allow God's transforming love to free, heal, and restore you,

JUST BREATHE takes us through Repult's journey to brokenness and then shows us how God has begun and continued healing him and putting him back together. It is a book not just about redemption or addiction, but a bit of both combined. After following Repult's journey, he's included a list of tools we can use to allow Jesus and God fully into our lives to heal us and continue to use us.Well written, insightful, and useful, I think particularly the tools section was helpful. He discusses the link between amends and forgiveness, which I have, in the past, felt was overlooked. What attracted me to this book initially (since I saw it in a store) was that it was so incredibly colorful. Much in the same way that Gilliam's artwork is multi-dimensional and incredibly tactile, even on a screen, this book is really meant to be consumed in printed form (or at least on a Kindle Fire/Kindle app, where the color can be viewed properly). Kindle/app viewers will miss out on the humorous "MEMEMEMEMEME" scrawling on the edges of the book."Gilliamesque" covers his life to date, beginning with his early years in Minnesota, through his time in California and New York, and then his auspicious move to England that ultimately led to his joining the Pythons and spending decades behind the camera making bizarre, luscious art. Interspersed throughout the book, you see pictures, drawings, and other memorabilia that help further illustrate his life (no pun intended). Little drips of paint are all over the place, giving the impression of the book as a canvas--which, really, it is, when you think about his life as having been colored in by his experiences and reactions to the various challenges and opportunities he's had over the course of his nearly 76 years on Planet Earth.As someone who's only ever really seen Gilliam's work from the outside, having this inside view of his thought patterns, the events that formed and shaped his ideas, and the challenges that he's encountered really gave me a far better sense of why I have enjoyed his work. Gilliam is unapologetically creative, to the point where he makes it perfectly clear that he's not afraid to push buttons (regardless of whether that was the intent). I am so glad I bought this book, and now I can't wait to re-watch his films with an all-new perspective on the mad genius that created them.

An overview of Terry Gilliam's extraordinary career packed with rare photographs and about six decade's worth of Gilliam's amazing artwork. I hear he's working on another book which will plunge more deeply into his career. Don't expect to learn anything new or groundbreaking about Gilliam but an absolute joy nonetheless. Plenty of show business anecdotes about the likes of Marlon Brando, too.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and purchased the published addition.Iâ€™ve loved Emily since we first met her precocious little self in Maine where she met Sven and then went on an adventure. I just knew someday we would get their story. It was fated.Although life and teenage angst got in the way for awhile Emily and Sven were always meant for each other. I loved their story, I personally enjoy a love story where our hero and heroine know they belong together, and even though they still must face struggles (and boy do they) they donâ€™t go through all that angst of do I love him, are we meant for each other, before coming together.Once again evil is afoot in Skyâ€™s Viking world. Itâ€™s always interesting to return and see how past characters have fared and meet their children. Iâ€™m also not much of a history buff, however Sky' writing is so mesmerizing Iâ€™m really enjoying learning more about Vikings, their history and lore.With two ancient and not so nice dragons trying to continue their own personal vendetta using their dragon descendants and the Sigdirs will good be able to overcome evil this time? Of course Iâ€™m sure the good guys will win, but I canâ€™t wait to take their journey with them and find out how they kick evils butt this time.

In August 2018, in Winter Harbor, Maine Emily noticed a very large ash tree in her backyard. Emily is none too pleased to have this tree there. Emily will even sell the house to escape the tree. When a mysterious woman shows up at her front door talking about a prophecy and the tree in Emilyâ€™s backyard are somehow connected. In this tree though holds Emilyâ€™s fate and her death possibly. Emily must go back and correct it. When Emily goes back to 932 A.D. Scandinavia trouble abounds. When Emily sees her best friend Sven who needs her help, she is relieved to see him but the problems she must deal in 10th century Scandinavia are even worse. Can Emily stop the threat to both their worlds with Sven or will the enemy destroy everything they hold dear including their love for each other?This book was fraught with danger and heart stopping action throughout a perilous journey from modern time to 10th century Scandinavia. The book did start off slow and there were quite a few moments of confusion and feelings of being lost, in not understanding the other characters or the history. Even though this is the first book in the series it didnâ€™t feel like it. There are references to other stories that happened to the side characters and maybe it would be helpful to read those first instead of blindly jumping into this book. Emily the brave courageous smart heroine might be a dragon shifter manages to hold her own, be a warrior and yet deal with her lust for Sven. She doesnâ€™t just want to sleep with him all the time and is able to think for herself which is a relief that she can still be a girl that wants to save everyone. Sven was the best kind of hero! Sure he might be the best friend of Emily but he is willing to do anything for her, saves her and even if she isnâ€™t his mate he still loves her. Despite the perplexity of the story it is still well worth the read!

I don't know how Sky Purington does it but every time I read her books I get so drawn into the story that it feels real. Viking King's Vendetta is a fantastic book. The characters and story pull you in from the beginning. Every word pulls you further into the heart of everything. Mystery, magic,romance and deep and abiding love. These are what makes this book impossible to put down. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Viking Kingâ€™s Vendetta has fantastic world building, long awaited romance and seering love, adventure, plus twists and turns, and magic. So much fun. Sky Purinton has another hit. Totally recommend this book....and for that matter, all the MacLomain and Vikings series by this author. Start at the beginning and continue reading till you have read all of these interconnected series.

The saga continues and keeps getting better. I've read all Sky's books and love that characters from previous books are acknowledged & part of the book. Already pre-ordered the next book!!

Every time Sky completely tangles me up in tangents of plots and people in incessant distress mini details and weirdness, I swear off... and get the next book-11 so far

I really wanted to love this book. I've listened to the author, and he's so easy to understand. He frames his arguments rationally and covers a lot in a little time. The concept is elegant, but the execution was hard for me to follow. The book has some excellent 5-star points, especially at the beginning. Then I began to feel bogged down by all the pictures (often hard to interpret) and "too much" info. Hard to describe, but almost gave up reading it. While I had a big picture takeaway -- look for a 'causer' outside the room -- I wish I had gotten more out of it.

I enjoyed reading God's Crime Scene. Enjoyed the crime stories which helped present the tools of investigation. More and more I am impressed by the piles of evidence that point towards a reasonable believe in God as the creator of the Universe. I had mainly accepted it on faith, but having the case laid out like this was terrifically helpful. I love science and I love Jesus and I love that both of these are so closely intertwined. I highly recommend this book.

Not only is this book well written, it is brilliantly organized. And the real-life analogies make abstract logical ideas real and accessible. My copy is covered with margin notes and highlights. No matter what you have read in Apologetics, this book will do two things, guaranteed: it will organize your thoughts, and it will give you new and fresh ways to explain important truths to other people.

This book is one of the freshest perspectives I've seen for evaluating eight main lines of evidence (cosmological, life from non-living things/biological structures/reproduction, the mind proceeding from the brain, free will/morality/presence of evil) to present not only an argument for the existence of God, but also a snapshot of what these things reveal about His character. Wallace looks at both sides of the arguments and provides tools for evaluating these and other arguments. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I used materials from Cold-Case Christianity and Forensic Faith for a "personal enrichment" class at Maranatha Bible College. The student's loved Jim Wallace's no-nonsense crisp evidentiary approach to evangelism and apologetics. The students wanted more. In God's Crime Scene (GCS), Jim marshals evidence from an impressive range of writers and thinkers from the fields of physics, biology, psychology, philosophy, theology and more to show the scientific case for God is compelling yet accessible for "jurors" without specialized academic training. The 40 pages of "Case Files" at the end of the book listing both pro and con expert witnesses together with sources for further investigation are an excellent start for the lay-person wanting to delve deeper. I am using GCS to prepare an introduction to science-based apologetics and evangelism course. Jim Wallace has done the heavy-lifting providing a persuasive structure and many useful analogies to make concepts easier to grasp. I recommend GCS to instructors and small group leaders seeking to foster science-based evangelism.

Great book! J. Warner Wallace's method is perfect for communicating arguments for God existence (and other arguments in his other books) to people today because most people have grown up watching so many crime/legal tv shows and movies. I would personally read his books if they were just about investigating crimes because there is so much to learn in that area through his books. However, he is investigating something much more important and interesting than crimes, he is using cold case methods to investigate the existence of God. These methods carry over very well because they are both investigations of events that happened in the past, i.e., evaluating evidence from cold cases which are from the past and evaluating evidence from our universe which came into existence in the past. J. Warner Wallace is able to communicate these ideas with intellectual rigor while still being able to communicate it in a way that is interesting and accessible to modern people. Thanks for the great work!

Get this book. If you are a Christian, and agnostic, or an atheist, or a member of another faith, get this book. This is one of the clearest descriptions of the creation of the universe I have ever read, and I have read most of them. This is written by an author who is one of the very best, most organized, and clearest thinkers and writers I have read anywhere. This is a part of a trilogy, and I strongly recommend all of them. This is written for the layman level, and even older children can benefit from this series of books. I can not recommend it more.

Is there a God?Wallace's primary contribution to this discussion is a fresh perspective. The arguments he uses are tried and true, but his exemplars are new and fresh. As a cold-case detective he looks at the evidence through a new, distinctive lens. For those looking for a new take on the arguments, this might be your answer.His secondary contribution, one that is not often accomplished, is the accessibility he brings to the arguments. He makes these arguments easy to understand through usually deft handling, reiteration, and that new perspective mentioned earlier. This results in a somewhat surface treatment, which works perfectly for this book and should open minds to seek more answers.My only disappointment? Chapter 1 (I think) he gets into a completely appropriate use of Aquinas' argument from motion. Right place, right time, but the example he uses muddies the waters a bit. Not a fatal flaw, but a bit of a bummer. Almost as if the argument itself, though used correctly, wasn't fully understood.I thoroughly enjoyed the book and am intending to teach it at church for both adults and youth. I think it's a valuable resource that may be a catalyst to open eyes to truth. However, study up elsewhere on the arguments he presents. Kids especially will want to go deeper than this book may have gone, though now they may know better what to ask.Well worth the read. . . and probably well worth teaching and discussing.
