Nearly 2 years ago, I became single for the first time in over 15 years; leaving my second marriage after years of feeling stuck, unhappy, lost, and like I didn't know what's wrong with me or if love was even really available for me. I hate to admit it, but in the final few years of my last relationship, I had started to completely believe that being even a LITTLE bit happy in a relationship was not a 'real thing'. I viewed every relationship I encountered with mistrust, and assumed that both parties must be unhappy. As such, I was very bitter and also just deeply sad about love as a concept. It felt like an impossible dream.Fast forward until now, and I have spent the past several years actively studying, growing, learning, and facing into my own flaws and uncertainties as well as limiting beliefs in this area. It's been an interesting journey, and incredibly reward, however it wasn't until I read Susan's book on the Four Noble Truths of Love that I for the very first time understood that the 'end goal' is not some perfect and never disruptive situation with another human being.I can honestly say that my mind was expanded beyond what I believed possible with what Susan shares here, not only because it resonated and just felt RIGHT, but also because it allowed me to see that there's nothing wrong with me, when there are ups and downs and me being triggered or upset or feeling misunderstood in my current experience of love. I thought that everytime something felt like it wasn't working it meant I was wrong, or it was wrong! Now, I can see that it's about the dance. The ebb and the flow. And that even if things feel REALLY messed up, that doesn't mean it's not true love. It's not a reflection of me, OR my worth. This is just such a tiny part of what I've gained from this book. The tools, suggestions, explanations, and guidance in here are priceless, and I am about to start reading all over again already. If you've ever felt misunderstood in love, deeply sad or frustrated, 'not good enough', or ANGRY at why things aren't the way you want, or if you just want to understand how to give and receive love in a way that you can believe in - read this book.

Susan has written straight from her heart to ours. Using her own marriage and years of Buddhist learning/teaching/living, Susan shares her wisdom and experience to teach us about our own journey through love. If you're in an amazing relationship this book will very likely help you deepen it in ways you didn't realize possible. It has for mine. If you're in a crappy relationship this could help to make it better or make a graceful exit. Between relationships? You'll be so much better prepared for the next one. It's so practical, enlightening, funny and down-to-earth. Thank you again Susan. You just make the world easier to navigate.

Being in relationship with another person means conflict WILL arise. Fear, loss, loneliness, hurt, upset, expectations and unfulfilled dreams are a part of any relationship.Learning out how to avoid suffering in relationship while experiencing these discomforts is a specific application of general wisdom on how to reduce suffering in painful/stressful situations and the Buddha dharma is powerful teaching anyone can practice and implement. Piven has a lovely warm and challenging approach to applying Buddhist wisdom and practices in love relationships.Brilliant and practical.

In this book Susan lovingly guides us to turn towards the innate ups and downs of relationships and to find more ease and joy. It is not a "quick fix", as she offers no magic relationship tactic, it is a path to accepting what is the natural ebb and flow when two people chose to partner together. The book leads us to open up to appreciating it all, learning to manage our own triggers and to see that the very nature of partnerships can be messy and flawed and joyfully intimate in the many imperfections. Susan's keen understanding of The Four Noble Truths enables her to bring Buddha's teachings to us for our lives today and the result is a deeper understanding for how to live and how to love.Thank you Susan for sharing so much of yourself with all of us. Thank you for your time and energy and guidance. This book, coupled with a solid meditation practice (that I also learned from you!) has helped me to be a better partner, lover and friend. .

This is a fantastic book. I have read all of Susan’s books and find wisdom, humor, inspiration, and applicable tools in all she writes. This book tops them all! It is an elegant rendering of the Four Noble Truths to address the joys and sorrows of intimacy.I am a Buddhist oriented psychotherapist and am always on the lookout for books to recommend to my clients who are struggling with relationship issues. I am thrilled to be able to suggest this book to all my clients.Susan’s book goes far beyond the usual “how to” self-help guide - by inviting the reader to approach intimate relationships as a pathway to personal healing and wholeness.

This book is a must-read for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Whether you are single and looking for a partner or have been with someone for years, this book will offer lessons that will change how you approach relationships. Piver provides straightforward and easy to understand tactics to better understand your self, your motivations and inclinations, and those of your partner. Keeping her guidance in mind will - for the better - change the course of your relationships, romantic and otherwise.

If youre going for your CNA this has everything! Im currently studying for my CNA and i know ill get my state test aced the first time!!! This has very detailed pictures explaining what do to, how to roll them over and so on. Very glad i bought this book!

I used Mosby's Textbook for Nursing Assistants over twenty years at a high school nursing program. When it came time to reorder new books, my colleague and I would review other nursing assistant text books. No other publication came close to identifying clearly the salient points of skill procedures, patent dignity, cleanliness and safety than Shella Sorrento's nursing assistant text books.

This amazing book is a must have for any healthcare professional. Very easy to read and to understand, loaded with photos and illustrations, it gives step-by-step instructions on over 100 healthcare procedures. With over 800 pages, a glossary section and a CD-ROM, The MOSBY'S TEXTBOOK FOR NURSING ASSISTANTS is indeed an excellent guidance system for the CNA and the regular person taking care of another. As a NURSING ASSISTANT, this very important book will ever be my point of reference. This latest edition is well updated with everything pertaining to basic and intermediate healthcare. Most highly recommend to anyone who is in this field or contemplating healthcare as a career.

The book is perfect! No tears or writing in it. It arrived very fast and packaging was great! Thank you!

Needed it for school

While you will learn all you need for the "written" test ( it's actually on computer), the bookdoesn't help to give you a heads up on the Skills test, taken the same day. A listing of all thesteps involved in each one, with a list of supplies needed for each would have been good. There is a CD that comes with the text that purportedly has such but the audio/visual partleaves out a lot and I found myself printing out the text for each skill from the CD. I took asix-week intensive course with only five weeks of classes (M - TH), only half of which dealtwith the skills. Ten classes, three hours each, with eight other students to learn all the 22skills was just not enough time to get the practice necessary and while my test is still morethan 3 weeks away I feel shaky on the Skills. Six days of practicum at a hospital was somewhathelpful, but the practice there while basically the same, was different enough from what thestate test calls for as to confuse and frustrate this student. Again, the text is good as far as itgoes but should give fair warning ( and advice) on the, to my mind, more important issue ofpreparing for the practice (skills): eg. schedule study sessions with your fellow students, allwhose phone numbers you have, using the classroom on campus (with permission and availabilitysecured) to practice the skills!

I love this book ❤️all stuff you need to be CNA you can find it here

The book is great! The only reason I'm giving the workbook 3 stars is because the person who made the workbook did not think ahead of time and made all the pages printed on front and back. So when you go to turn in a chapter for instance chapter 1..the first page of chapter two will be in the back of chapter 1s last page. It's a problem when you have to turn these pages in because then you're missing pages from certain chapters.

These gray man books are hard for me to review - I couldn't decide if it's a 1 star or a 4 star so I went with 2. WHY?As far as realistic and possible they are right up there with the Wizard of Oz. But nobody thought the W of O was trying to tell a tale that is physicaly possible on the earth as we know it. The Gray Man, OTOH, seems to operate on OUR world so the physical laws do apply and people and machines have to function as the actually do.Our gray man starts out as the smartest, most capable, assassin the world has ever seen yet he constantly ends up getting bailed out of dumb situations by folks who somehow end up helping him in ways that are totally against the laws of human nature.. OK (spoiler next re the first novel), He's near death, gets an amateur blood transfusion in the car WHILE driving it to what ends up being a major battle and, of course, he emerges triumphant. Ask your local ER doc how well that would work...BUT, for some strange reason I kind of enjoy them and I have ended up reading through the series so far to the current book despite being regularly annoyed, no, make that "angered," by the "NO F Way" bird that is constantly chirping, no, make that "screaming" in the background. I can deal with being lucky occasionally but, as I said in my first gray man review, his luck is like flipping a coin 20 times and having it turn up heads every time. He apparently, can also fly a helicopter by using the controls in a manner in which it would be like trying to use a car's accelerator pedal to turn and the steering wheel to add/reduce throttle. That's not a problem in a novel...unless the folks reading it actually know anything about flying a helicopter. And let's not even talk about ballistics where, it seems, in Kiev, his rifle was zeroed at 325 yards but he had to aim high with the rifle to hit a target at 120 yards. I guess there is some sort of reverse gravity operating in/near Kiev. C'mon Mark, a little research beforehand would be welcome. OTOH, I guess the books are selling well so why bother? ;) And yes, despite my annoyance I'll pay good money to read the rest of the books. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. ;)

Mark Greaney's 4th Gray Man offering, Dead Eye, continues to deliver an engaging as well as fresh plot. Court is still firmly in the sights of the CIA, which has outsourced the job to a private, off the books, well regarded mercenary force. Unbeknownst to everyone, a similar "singleton" like Court who is part of the hunt has decided to go rogue and use Court as a decoy while he executes his master-plan. His strategy however, requires Court stay alive long enough to end up the fall guy. The Israelis, whom everyone wants to avoid, are brought into the mix. Leading that group is a young, capable woman who begins to question the CIA's version of events. In classic Court fashion, he surprises everyone as he runs toward danger, ends up foiling everyone's plans, and still manages to make pick up a few allies along the way.Tradecraft is classic Gray Man, both in the style of avoidance and slipping under the radar as well as weapons and self defense. There are plenty of action scenes with much performed by other participants that highlights the superior skills Gentry possesses. Also, as a special treat for the reader, the details of Kiev are finally revealed as is the supposed basis for the original CIA kill order, although there is clearly more backstory to fill in as well as the actual, true events.

This is the fourth in the Gray Man series of books (five have been published so far) - I am reading them in order at the suggestion of a buddy of mine. It has been very interesting to watch the author, Mark Greaney, evolve as a writer through the four books I have read. He started the series out as pure action on top of action (think 1970's Mack Bolan) and has been changing and improving his writing style with each book. Not that the pure action was bad - it was what it was, but now we have plots that are not linear and the action is more sporadically placed throughout the novel. The characters are starting to be more carefully crafted and the plots now have some more interesting twists. The author continues to do his research on the weapons being used. For example the HK MP7 is an excellent choice of personal weapon for the Townsend operators - a more powerful round than most handguns, firing a smaller caliber round at a higher velocity. A much better choice than the obvious HK MP5 sub-machine gun which fires the 9MM. The author does make one minor error when he describes the Blaser sniper rifle - he calls it the model 93 - when it is actually Blaser's Model LRS2. The 93 is the sport version of the rifle with wood stocks and such - and is not the rifle described, which is the LRS2. His choice of the Leupold Mk2 scope is a good tactical choice. Toward the end, Dead Eye raids a Townsend safe house's weapons cache and takes an Accuracy International sniper rifle in what the author describes as .338 caliber - it is actually the .338 Lap Magnum caliber, and the model of the rifle is the AX. I appreciate the time the author took to try and get the weapons down correctly, as one of my pet peeves is those who do not do so.Also, I should note it is not just the weapons that the author tries to describe correctly - the Ford Van - a Galaxy model - brought me up short - but, after a quick check - yep, it is a Euro only model. (My guess is Ford used the Galaxy term to make sure they used it often enough that no other car company could take the use of the term.) Also, his description of the other accessories of the Townsend operators, from their Oakley sunglasses, to their G-Shock watches certainly sets an image of these knuckle draggers. The books are getting better and better - I am looking forward to starting the fifth - and I agree with my buddy - read them in order

This is the author's personal model based mostly on Kabbalah but also other mystical, metaphysical, spiritual traditions. It's an interesting account, far more erudite than the many introductory Kabbalah books available today. While I don't agree with all of her assumptions, assertions, & conclusions, her analysis is well thought out; notably Luria's system (though stemming to a degree from his master Cordovero) was HIGHLY speculative in the 16th century. She also includes her own meditation (Appendix A) similar to Tibetan Buddhist (Vajrayana) deity yoga  & Rosicrucianism ]. The many parallels to Vajrayana are IMHO very supportive of her position. Per George MacDonald, "Those don't' know England who only England know." ] I often juxtapose Kabbalah & Vajrayana (esp. Dzogchen teachings) in order to understand each in terms of the other. Frequently, what is obtuse in one is clearer in the other. ]For example, her discussion of light is very similar to the Vajrayana mother-son (i.e. cosmic or God) light and her highest soul light: pp. 157, 269, & pp. 303-4: "The Yechidah soul...viewed as the ultimate salvific form of an individual human personality...would be identified with a centering point of this Light, a particular know in its network of light. All individuals who have reached this point could be thought of as individually filling & transcending cosmic space, each connected to others while retaining its own personal definition...And in such interconnection, the soul can experience all the others with all the levels of its being." ] John Reynolds' [see endnotes in Oral Tradition From Zhang-Zhung] points out numerous parallels between Dzogchen & Kabbalah. I would particularly note the great similarity between the Buddhist kayas and the many soul levels of Kabbalah. Similarly, she provides p. 307 an octahedron model paralleling Jungian analyst Robert Moore's (proponent of the men's movement) octahedron model of Jungian archetypes. She also gives a valuable analysis of balancing love, power (p. 269), & service p. 143: "the individual who embarks on the path of social activism without sufficient spiritual development may find that his efforts have, indeed, served to purify some aspect of society but at the sacrifice of his own spiritual health" including Jewish religious service (ceremony)--in Appendix B.Overall, I would not recommend this book for beginners, but for those already steeped in Kabbalah (esp. those having studied other spiritual traditions--most esp. from the East) this book is refreshing, provocative, and thought-provoking.

In contrast to the other person reviewing the book, i found much to grapple with and like in this book.Being new to the Kaballah, and gravitating toward substantive accounts of anything, i found Leet's book to be supremely useful in understanding the Hebraic and Jewish Kaballah. Leet gives a lengthy comparison of the Lurianic and Zoharic traditions and synthesizes them into a new model of the cosmic process. If and when you make it through the introduction, then she examines the 'fall' of man through a few different lenses, gives an insightful account of the seemingly contradictory genesis stories, relates that story (those stories) to not only the star of David but the progression of the soul towards higher echelons of spirituality. If you're looking for a deeper account of the Kaballah than some pop-kabballah book that re-hashes what most other books have, then this is you're ticket. This book seems to have the audience of serious Kaballah practitioners and spiritualists rather than a easy-going introduction to the literature, theory and paradigms of Hebraic mysticism.I liked this book more than her previous two, but haven't read the fourth in the series.ps: I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about with the ruby/tv story.

I didn't get far with The Kabbalah of the Soul though I was interested in a potential psychology of Kabbalah. There are more helpful books out there IMO. Daniel Matt is probably the author I'd recommend most.

I have been wondering about many of the theories and psychological concepts presented by the author. The book was recommended to me by a friend who knows that I am interested in mysticism as a Christian

As mentioned by another reviewer, the content is rather light. It's interesting though, as it presents the Jewish viewpoint in a "theosophical"-like style. Its interest however lies mainly in comparing the cosmological view of the Kabbalah with other traditions. If your interest goes beyond factual aspects (suppose you'd like to get some experience) i would not recommend this one. There is no practical message about how one would do something to leverage the framework presented in this book.

This work lacks content. The author compensates her lack of authentic Kabbalic tradition by inventing her own terminology, she reminds me of that other bluffer A.E.Waite.Leet repeatedly quotes yogic philosophy and classical philosophers far more than she does Kabbalists to back up her points.Despite her lengthy commentary, theres not much substance here. When the author tells the story of an indian mystic who runs his hand through sand and transforms it into a ruby.....and than goes on to say that its actually captured on film, well you can take it from there.Godzilla destroyed tokyo on film too,or was it japan?

I've just read this book and i thought it to be just one of the best descriptions of the stages of the path that i've ever read (and i assure you that i've read many )Miss Leet seems to write from her own experience and also with great knowledge about the Jewish Tradition .It's interesting to all those familiar with the Gurdjieffian Stages of the path ( the seven levels of "men".Today , in our post-patriarcal society ,would be better to speak of "human beings" ) to have that in mind when she writes about the seven worlds .I guess she gives a very vivid description of what is to be a "man(or woman) number 5 , a woman( or man) number 6 and a wo-man number 7 .A must read for all those who already know the importance of having and being a soul ...
